Covid-19 Testing is More Important Than Ever

Whether we want to accept it or not, the Covid-19 pandemic is not over. According to a July 6, 2021 update from the WHO, “The cumulative number of cases reported globally now exceeds 183 million and the number of deaths is almost 4 million. Last week, all Regions reported an increase in new cases except for the Americas. The European Region reported a sharp increase in incidence (30%) whereas African region reported a sharp increase in mortality (23%) when compared to the previous week. All Regions, with the exception of the Americas and South-East Asia, reported an increase in the number of deaths last week”. Vaccines have made a difference, but even countries with a high vaccination rate are still home to many vulnerable people; particularly as the Delta Variant sweeps the globe.

The ability to test people on a regular and ongoing basis for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is increasingly important if we are to manage this dangerous and disruptive pathogen. Along with vaccines, social distancing, and masks, frequent testing of people in the places where they congregate would play significant role in controlling transmission.

Bio-Stream Diagnostics has developed a practical and effective Covid-19 test that can be used any day – anywhere, to test people as they go about their daily lives; at work or school, on the cruise ship, at the mall, or before the football game. Unlike the majority of tests currently available, the Bio-Stream Go test is specifically designed to minimize inconvenience. It is ultra-fast, with results delivered in 60 seconds, it detects the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus at very low levels (before the infected person shows symptoms), it is very affordable, and easy to use. By eliminating the lag time between testing and the delivery of results, those who test positive are notified on-the-spot and offered immediate assistance, if required. Time-stamped test results are shared on a Mobile App developed by Bio-Stream and can be used as an infectious free passport.

Bio-stream is actively pursuing Health Canada and FDA approval for their test. Once on the market, the Bio-Stream Go test will revolutionize Covid-19 management. Regular and ongoing testing gives everybody confidence and is a valuable tool to help us get back to normal.
